Going to the NARBC Reptile Expo this Saturday

I'm going to the NARBC reptile expo this Saturday, October 13, 2012. I'm excited to go because. I get to get up close and personal with species of reptiles I never even seen before. Since I never been to a reptile expo before. I'm curious to see how many species of reptiles they have there. My dad and I are leaving at 10:00am that day to get there early so we can look at the many different reptiles they have. My dad already paid for the tickets to go there so I'm planning to bring my tablet so I can take pictures of the different types and morphs of the reptiles and other animals. I also can't wait to meet some other animals there too so I can take some pictures of them too to remember for years to come. Reptile expos are a reptile lover's dream because you get to met some of the most unusual and amazing reptiles you never even knew existed. Of couse me being a reptile owner, these expos are like heaven to reptile lovers like myself because these animals have been here long before humans started to evolve so these animals need our most respect. So I'm planning to do another blog after the expo is over telling how wonderful and awesome it was. Now excuse me, I've need to go clean out the cage of my two leopard geckos.

My New Pet Leopard Geckos

Two weeks ago I got two leopard geckos from my  former teacher Ms.V on a Friday. The male was brightly colored while the female was more brownish and dull. We put them in a cup until we got home when we took them out and putted them in their old cage. We then went to Petco to buy crickets, Vita-Sand, Kricket Keeper to house the crickets, the things geckos hide in and the Zilla items. We then we home to prepare some of these items like feed the geckos the crickets, start preparing the Zillia home for them.

On Saturday afternoon, we putted the Vita-Sand in their new home, removed all the hiding places for the crickets. We used the net to move the crickets to the new gecko enclosure. We then moved the geckos to the new enclosure so the crickets can be eaten. After the job was done, we watched the geckos eat those crickets.
I'm going to make videos about them soon.

Our Trip to Sandridge Nature Center

In September 2011 my dad and I went to the Sandridge Nature Center to explore it's animals and plant life.  We went into the small buildling and we saw a frog, snakes, crayfish. The two snakes we saw were and a Garter snake and a Westren Fox Snake(elaphe vulpina)It was great since snakes are one of my favorite animals. I also liked the frog we saw before we looked at the bullsnakes. We looked at the big one first then we looked at the smaller one. I countined to look at the big bullsnake and then went out side. flow

We then saw the garden and the plantlife. We did see a butterfly  on a flower but it was too fast for me to take a picture of. We took pictures of the typesof flower. Then we  went back inside and read about the native people who used to be here before the white man came and destoryed their culture. It's really sad that happened and it's really shaemful. We then saw more reptiles behind the building.and we saw info on which animal tracks belong to what animal species. We then went back in the building and I looked at the animals for a while then we left to go home.

What this has taught me is that nature is full of amazing wonders and creatures and that humans must stop and think about what they are doing to nature. Every creature has a role to play in this world.
